In addition to ALPA’s Association-wide dues return offer, announced earlier this year, your MEC is conducting a separate dues return offer of surplus MEC funds, which was communicated to our members earlier this week.

Section 60 D.1.b of the ALPA Administrative Manual allows an MEC to authorize an offer to return dues to its pilots if the MEC’s cumulative account balance exceeds the lesser of a) 75% of the MEC’s annual income or b) the maximum eligible amount of an MCF allocation to the MEC under Section 60 F.1.h(1). The amount in excess of this calculation is what is available to be returned.

Last year, following the fall ALPA Canada Board meeting, we shared with you information on the many benefits available to members. One of those benefits is the universal ALPA sponsored $20,000 Basic Life coverage. The coverage is there in the event of a death of a covered Canadian resident who is a member of ALPA, regardless of location or cause of death.
